Standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation

DTok is a short-video and live-streaming app with user-generated content. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited without exception. This page sets out what is forbidden, how anyone can report it, what we do when we receive a report, and who to contact.

1. Prohibited conduct

The following are banned everywhere in DTok — video posts, image posts, notes, live streams, comments, direct and group messages, profile names, avatars and bios:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any medium, real or synthetic, including AI-generated, drawn, animated or computer-rendered depictions.
• Sexualisation of a minor, including suggestive framing, posing or commentary about a person who is or appears to be under 18.
• Grooming, sexual solicitation of a minor, or attempting to arrange sexual contact with a minor.
• Sextortion, or threatening to publish intimate imagery of a minor.
• Trafficking of minors, or advertising, trading, linking to or soliciting CSAM.
• Off-platform recruitment of minors into any of the above.

These rules apply regardless of intent, artistic framing, or whether the content is claimed to be fictional.

2. Age requirement

DTok is not directed at children. Accounts require a minimum age of 18, or the minimum age permitted in the user's jurisdiction where that is higher. Accounts we determine to belong to someone below the minimum age are removed.

3. Reporting — in the app

Every piece of content and every account in DTok can be reported from the app without leaving it:

• Report content or an account — open the “more” menu on any video, post, comment, live stream or message and choose Report. Minor safety is the first category in the list, with reasons covering sexual content involving a minor, sexual solicitation or sextortion of a minor, suspected under-age users, and other harm to minors.
• Block a user — open a profile and choose Block, which removes the follow relationship in both directions and stops further contact.

Reports can be made by anyone who can see the content; an account is not required to contact us by email.

4. Reporting — outside the app

Reports can also be sent directly to tslacoinv@gmail.com. This address is monitored and is our designated point of contact for questions about our CSAM prevention practices and compliance.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first. Reports may also be made to the relevant national authority, for example the NCMEC CyberTipline in the United States or the equivalent body in your country.

5. What happens after a report

• Reports flagged as child safety are prioritised ahead of other report types.
• Content assessed as CSAE is removed and the associated account is terminated.
• We preserve the relevant records where we are required to do so, and report apparent CSAM to the competent regional and national authorities in line with the law applicable to us.
• Terminated accounts are prevented from re-registering where we can determine that they belong to the same person.

6. Self-hosted deployments

DTok is also licensed as source code for organisations to run on their own infrastructure. In a self-hosted deployment the operator of that deployment is the service provider: they control the data, the moderation decisions and the legal obligations that follow, and they are responsible for publishing and enforcing their own child safety standards.
